Overworked Professionals: A Waste of Talent and Money

In today’s competitive business world, it is common for employers to demand a lot from their employees. They may be required to work long hours, take on multiple responsibilities, and constantly learn new skills. This can lead to a great deal of stress and burnout, which can have a negative impact on both the individual and the company.

“Overwork is a silent killer that is taking a toll on our health, our relationships, and our productivity.” As Arianna Huffington, Founder of Thrive Global, puts it, “We need to start taking steps to prevent overwork and to create a healthier work-life balance.”

The cost of overwork

Overworked employees are more likely to experience health problems, such as anxiety, depression, and heart disease. They are also more likely to make mistakes, miss deadlines, and have accidents. This can lead to decreased productivity, increased costs, and even legal liability.

In addition, overworked employees are less likely to be motivated and engaged in their work. They are also less likely to be creative and innovative, which can hinder the company’s long-term success.
